Normally you can turn off closed captions and/or subtitles by hitting the OPTIONS button on your remote (as shown on the left), however it should be noted that it is very common for channels to broadcast hardcoded closed captions/subtitles over English language audio. Hardcoded closed captions/subtitles can not be disabled.
